What Product Should You Buy Next?

I just purchased a new product which should be no surprise to you… After buying it, I realized something very exciting about it before I even opened it.

Here Something You Need To Keep In Mind

  1. Invest in your education.
  2. Buy every product on the subject matter you want to learn
  3. Before you purchase a new product – look for good reviews on it and find out if it is even worth the investment.
  4. Take the time and actually consume the information in that product and don’t let it collect dust on a shelf somewhere.

I had a interest in learning more about affiliate marketing, so I did some research and narrowed it down to two different products from two very different leaders who both have made millions in this area. …but after finding reviews on both products, I was steered away from the one I had made up my mind in purchasing days before.

I ended up changing my mind at the last minute because of the review I found by someone I met actually personally respect. -And here’s the kicker, we’re on the same Prosperity Team… Not to mention he was giving away so many bonuses away! Just one of the bonuses he’s offering is worth the $50 bucks by itself. (which is the cost of the original product I decided on).

add to cart

What I Find Exciting About This Product Is Not The Product

What excites me about this product is how I found it – a review. I do reviews myself, very similar to the one here that pushed my buying decision in another direction. It was well done first of all, and as I said I know this particular leader.

The exciting part is…

This review was done over 1 year ago! A video from a year ago is still working and making this guy money a year later. No doubt that this will continue to bring in commissions in the future as well. This is why I do very sound, quality reviews on the products I go after. He got paid on complete autopilot from work he did over a year ago! That’s cool as he**.

Don’t miss this!

  • Do a piece of content once: maybe it’s a video, an article, a blog post, or an audio, and it goes to work for you forever pretty much.

So the more “web assets” you have out there in cyberspace, the more chances of someone finding your content – thus making you more money.

Can You Spot The Lies In Your Emails?

Joke: How do you know when a politician is lying? Answer: Their lips are moving. The thing is – p0liticians aren’t hurt by that joke one bit! Yeh I know, I know… It was corny.,

It’s Easy To Tell

You can usually tell when someone is lying to you when they’re right in front of you, or you’re listening to their voice.

But… It’s not so easy when you’re communicating with text – such as an email for example. This story in the WSJ gives some examples of spotting lies in emails based on how its written. It could even be what’s NOT in the email that is the tell-tale sign of a lie!

Maybe someone will come up with an App for that… ijs

Your Built In Lie Detector

Trusting your own instincts is a good rule of thumb when you’re in doubt about someone is telling you. That’s right, your good ol’ fashioned “Gut” reaction is probably not far off from what the real truth happens to be.

It is amazing however, that so many people lie at the drop of a hat, and many times there’s absolutely no reason for that person to lie to begin with. How did we get here? Image below added for humor…

Why has today’s society become so cavelier with the truth? It seems as though lying has simply become a fact of life – but on a much larger scale.

At least when your face to face with a person or group of people, you have a lot of ammunition to use such as:

  • Eye contact
  • Body language
  • Tone of voice and there are others…

How Do You Protect Yourself From Liars?

I don’t know if there’s one right answer to this question.

  • Deal with people you already know to have good character.
  • Allow new contacts the time needed to prove themselves worthy of your inner circle of trust.
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it probably/usually is.

I’m curious to know how do you handle folks you have come to know to be liars? Do you let other people know about this persons bad habit of not being able to tell the truth or do you just let others find this out for themselves?

I welcome your comments below.

Live By The Sword Die By The Sword

I’m often amazed how people come up with obscure ways to earn a living.

Take Seizo Fukumoto’s story for example.

By Jun Hongo

He’s been slashed by sword probably more than anyone else ever has. Reason being, he’s been doing this for over 50 years! FIFTY YEARS! I don’t know anyone personally who’s been working 50 years let alone, dying in movies for that length of time.

This relates to what we do as home business owners. It’s being consistent in your daily habits in order to get good at it. If you want to become a great blogger, you have to begin blogging and continue doing it until you’re great. If you want to be a great video marketers, you must do videos! There’s no shortcut to it…

I was told long ago, the quickest shortcut is to do it right the first time.

I welcome your thoughts on the best Karate flicks you’ve seen, or anything else you want to comment about.

If Google’s In Trouble, We’re In Trouble!

Did you hear about the court ruling that could force Google and other search engines like Bing, Internet Explorer, Safari to remove any and all information about an individual?

Well it happened in a court over in Europe on Tuesday. On the face of it, it seems pretty cool that you can have the search engines remove not so good stuff about you entirely off the web. Let me explain something to you – THIS AIN’T GOOD!

I can understand the argument about getting derogatory stuff about yourself off the internet, but I want you to see the big picture here… First of all, how are the search engines going to distinguish one John Smith from another? Can you imagine what effort they (search engines) will have to undertake to make this a reality?

What About The Information That Should Stay Out There?

What about pedophiles and career criminals? Shouldn’t we know if one moves next door to us? What if “they” decide that they want to be “forgotten” which is more recognized in Europe – the concept was born out of 19th century French and a German legal protections that once permitted honor-based dueling or some such crap. Read the full story here.

This ruling will not be overlooked by the U.S. courts trust me, they’re paying attention. Whenever the courts., and when I say courts – I’m referring to politicians, get they’re hand in something good – IT ALWAYS TURNS OUT BAD FOR US!

Watch what I tell you now… They will find some way to screw up the internet as crazy as that sounds. They will attempt to make us pay to use the internet at some point and if we sit on our hands, THAT my friends will become a harsh reality.

Here’s an exact snippet from this article above: National authorities can force the search engines to comply if they judge there isn’t a sufficient public interest in the information, the court ruled.

Now we can sit around on this one like we Americans tend to do, and not raise a stink when this issue arises in the States if we want. The will have a field day with this!

You Can’t Fry Bologna In A Microwave

fried baloneyI can remember the days of fried baloney and government cheese. Free lunches over the summer., never knew where that money came from to provide free lunches to our neighborhood. To this day, there’s been so much money pumped into our local school system year after year – I often wonder why they demand more of it this many years later with no noticeable change.

I remember when mobile phone first came out on the market. You had to be making some money to even be able to afford the very expensive rate plans back then. If you did have one, you were considered a ‘baller.’ …and if you had a pager too, you were elevated to ‘shot-caller.’ Compare to today’s mobile phones and devices, the mobile phones of the 70’s were ridiculously heavy and cumbersome.

Oh, and don’t drive up with a phone actually installed in your car! Yoooo – You were the *ish then!

The only people that I knew who had one of these phones were dealing drugs. People I knew who actually went to work at a nine to five everyday, didn’t have one of these til waaay later. Just couldn’t justify the cost.

It was cheaper back then to simply have your own 800 number, which was also pretty damn cool to us kids.

Before there were 60′ plasma screen tv’s, I remember those old floor model television’s with the stereo on top and you were admired if you also had one of those loud and clunky clickers remotes that came with them. They has the worst pictures ever but as kids that didn’t matter when cartoons were on.

I remember our house getting broken into on more than one occasion and coming home with our house trashed., and you wonder how this could happen in broad daylight and none of your neighbors seeing anything. …baffling.

8track carThere was a time when 8-track tapes, 45’s and albums where the norm… I vaguely remember my uncle having a shoebox full of them in the back seat of his car. Now we have iTunes, free downloads and steaming music at our fingertips with practically limitless space. DJ’s used to show up hours ahead of time just to setup their equipment – including the crates of albums, over-sized speakers and homemade light boards.

vhsToday, DJ’s show up minutes before the party starts with a laptop and some sort of beat machine and the party is on!
VHS was the way we watched movies at home. Frequent trips were made to Blockbuster’s every week. They used to charge you for not rewinding the tapes when you returned them. Then we were introduced to DVD’s but today, it’s either downloading (which is a fading method), watching movies for free online along with streaming of course. Our mobile phones can do a lot of this now… koolaide

Long before Gatorade, energy drinks like Red Bull and Rockstar, there was good ol’ Koolaide with a good amount of sugar! There wasn’t any fancy la-de-daaa coffee on every corner – just coffee.

Hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane and if you want to add your own memories to this reflection of the past, please do so. …add photos of what brings back memories for you here.

Rapper Approaches Billionaire Status From The Big ‘Apple’

I know what you’re thinking, judging by the title you immediately started thinking about the Hip Hop Icon from New York – Jay-Z, or maybe even Russell Simmons, but I ain’t. I’m talking about another industry heavy hitter who shaped the face of Hip Hop from the left coast!

The Big ‘Apple’

…And no, I’m not talking about New York as the Big ‘Apple’ I’m actually talking about the other Big Apple – The Steve Jobs’ Big Apple. Read the full article here: wsj

If you haven’t heard, Apple Inc. is in discussions with Beats Electronics LLC. You know the one. The colorful and pricey headphones company. Yeh, the very same headphones all the professional players wear as they’re getting of the planes…

Anyways, I’m talking about west coast rapper “Dr. Dre” co-founder of Beats. Well this deal is said to be worth $3 billion. Yeh, with a “B”

Rapper’s Poised For Billionaire Status

  1. Dr. Dre
  2. Jay-Z
  3. and I’ll have to do more research to add to this list. (maybe you can give me some names to add here…

Flashback: In Dr. Dre’s humble beginnings, he was in a group called “The World Class Wrecking Crew.” I think they were what you would call a ‘one hit wonder’ …But seriously, how does a rapper from the hood in gang infested L.A. end up in such a sweet position?

I’ll tell you. His Love for the game. His passion for what he does! I can’t say that I’ve been following this guy, but I do know what his contribution to the rap game is. It’s undeniable really. This dude STAYS in the “lab!”

Don’t get it twisted though, Dr. Dre was on track for billionaire status without this Apple deal considering that Beats Electronics LLC, boasted revenue last year of $1.2 billion!  It just would’ve taken him longer.

What’s the moral to this story?

Man, there are so many… One that stands out to me is – Follow you dreams! Follow you passion in life whatever it is. Even when the nay sayers raise their ugly heads towards you! In the end – It will all be worth it I say!

Mental Camouflage

Mental Camouflage has to do with all the crap we have going on in our heads.

v

Normal People

It doesn’t matter if you’re single, married or not – we all have our lives that we lead everyday.

Mental CamouflageThe stuff going on in our heads vary in severity. Some of us have to deal with the logistics with our kids after school events, some of us deal with caring for our elderly parents, or maybe it’s a personal illness of our own.

All of this creates what I call mental camouflage. It’s serious, because it prevents us from being the creative with our thoughts. We worry about this or that. Stress is heightened because there is no down time...

No Time For Success

We have no time for success when all we can focus on are our challenges we face day to day. Your mind isn’t open to receiving opportunity in this poor mind state.

Maybe you’re not moving forward in that business venture you looked at some time ago because you feel there’s no way you tackle that AND my life. Well, that may seem to be a true statement to you – but is it really?

If you believe that to be true, then you’re also saying that no one else has ever overcome their life challenges either. …And we all know that to be false.

So what do you do to work yourself out of your predicament?

  • Ask for help for one – you may know someone in a position to help you the way you need to be helped, all you need to do is ask.
  • Devise a plan – sit down and write out a plan of action to better your current situation
  • Work that plan – commit to working your plan until you start seeing the type of results you need in your life.
  • Have faith – yeh, have faith that you are equipped to with everything you need to pave the way for a better future for you and your family

Giving You The Business

Don’t be fooled by strangers and all the flashy advertisements all over the internet promising to riches by ‘Getting you into business’ for yourself. Beware, they instead are simply ‘Giving you the business.’

Met RiversI don’t know what the stats are on this but I’m sure if this test did exist, the percentage of work from home scams, make extra money doing this or that, would be up in the nineties. Don’t be surprised, it’s big business and fraudsters and the legit crowd are consistently making a killing!

How To Avoid The Ol’ Flim-Flam

The best way to not get taken by these online opportunities is stick to who you know vs. what you think you know. Investigate thoroughly the company, it’s products and more importantly the person asking you to get involved.

Due diligence goes a mighty long way is this business. Ask around, look at their track record – it’s almost impossible to delete everything you ever posted online from your past dealings. There are trails to follow.

They say, “success leaves clues” while that’s true, so does your bad history.

  1. Ask for referrals
  2. How long has this person been doing what they’re doing? (if you notice patterns of jumping ship from one opportunity to another in a short time span, that’s a red flag).
  3. How long has the company been around? (your research shouldn’t end with the BBB).
  4. Are there any complaints or recalls on the products and or services?
  5. What is your “gut feeling” telling you about this person/company?
  6. Ask around – chat with people you know that are in the industry and ask their opinion.

Just because the company obviously spared no expense creating their website and online presence doesn’t mean they’re A-OK.

Before you make a decision to move forward, be sure all of your questions and concerns have been satisfactorily been answer to your liking. Then, and only then should you open your wallet. At some point you just have to have faith at the end of the day.

Trust But Verify…

Below The Belt…

The term “Below the belt” is usually reserved for major sporting events, mainly boxing… Today however, I’m talking as it relates to marketing.

vid

Your capture page ideally should always be placed above the fold so your visitors don’t have to scroll down the page to optin to whatever it is you’re promoting.

Let’s face it, people are lazy.

They want everything to be easy… They don’t want to spend time searching for the information they’re seeking. So why not give them what they came for in a way that don’t have to work for it.

Another good example of making it easier for a prospect to join you or take action on your offer is to not have them copy and paste anything. If you’re requiring a person who visits your site to copy and paste a url into the address bar – you’re going to lose a lot of potential business.

People don’t want to do that!

They want to be able to click a link and go immediately to what your offer is so they can either say, “yea” or ‘nay” to what they see and make a decision quickly!

This doesn’t mean that having your optin form below the belt that it will not work at all… I’m not saying that. I’m just stating the fact that split testing has been done by some body who really wanted to know if this was true. and the answer is – yep it’s true. lol!

Conduct your own test. Click on 10 random links and see if the optin form is above the fold or not. Let me know what you find…

A Business Model For The Ages

The idea of opening up a business of some sort has probably popped in the head of many. But what happens next is odd… Though the thought of being in business is enticing, reality for most is., I don’t have the money to open no business. Not to mention I don’t have a degree in business or any business experience.

v

So from the outset, we defeat ourselves before we even give our grand idea time to marinate.

The traditional business that most shy away from is the franchise model mainly because you need to have a lot of cheddar to get the doors open. Then we shrink our dream down to simply opening up a corner store or worse yet, forget about it altogether.

Yeh it’s true, you do need to have the 3 “C’s” on your side if you’re going the franchise route.

  1. Capital
  2. Credit
  3. Collateral

To make it worth the lenders while to loan you what you need to make this idea come to life. And without having credit or sufficient collateral on hand, chances are the franchise idea is a bust.

Compare Franchises To Network Marketing

It doesn’t matter if you’re ‘for or against’ the MLM business model. Truth of the matter is, most anyone can get started in their own business using the network marketing approach!

“Network Marketing usually has a very low entry point with a high back-end compensation.”

For the person who remains serious and focused on the opportunity of their choice, will likely develop the skills necessary to build a profitable long term and sustainable business. In about 2-5 years on average, a six figure income is becoming more commonplace. That is if you’re in an opportunity that pays out high commissions and not one that only pays out measly 20% or less.

Is There A Better Alternative?

What is the alternative to not following up on that idea of going into business? Well, you can continue going to work like you always have. Feeling unsatisfied, under appreciated and under paid.

OR, you can step out on faith, follow your gut and SCREW YOUR CRITICS & GO FOR IT!
